Back in December I wrote about the changes going on with the Detroit Newspapers. Well earlier today I saw a interesting stat from The Pew Research Center about that in 2008, for the first time ever, more Americans relied on the Internet for national and international news then they relied on newspapers. When looking at the 18-29 year old group, the Internet equaled Television as a main source for national and international news.
It is no surprise that advertisers are following the same trends, shifting more of their focus to the web.
A recent study revealed that more people than ever before are getting their news from the Web: Nearly half of the 1,979 people who responded to the survey said their primary source of news and information is the Internet, up from 40 percent just a year ago. Less than one third use television to get their news, while 11 percent turn to radio and 10 percent to newspapers.

"All successful newspapers are ceaselessly querulous and bellicose. They never defend anyone or anything if they can help it; if the job is forced on them, they tackle it by denouncing someone or something else." - H.L. Mencken

The communities look great. You should allow members to sell their communities to other members. Also the tagging system needs to allow for phrases. IE wind-power, as it is you can only do wind power.
